An architect in the making: this is my story
A brief break

Hey there everyone,

I apologize for not posting anything in a while, things have been a bit crazy lately. So I wanted to give an update, I won’t be posting on here for a while since I have something new on my plate for a while. As most of you readers might already know, I’m now in Anchorage Alaska for the next six months co-oping for school. This means that I will now be posting on my new blog http://nealsalaska.tumblr.com/ for the time being. This will mainly be used to keep my friends and family updated on what I’m up to while I’m away from home. Feel free to check it out if you are interested, there should be some pretty cool stuff coming up soon.

So in the mean time take a look at that and enjoy.

Cheers!

Mid-Century Modern Rest StopsThis two-year-old post on The Mid-Century Modernist has become a gathering place for these historically significant public designs, like those of the WPA, that remain uncredited, and often unappreciated, by America’s administrators. Rather than maintain them, many are being replaced with banal, uninteresting structures. Have a favorite rest area shelter? Submit it! Let’s archive these beauties for posterity.

THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH [SUMER, THIRD MILLENNIUM B.C.]
For the first time in my life, I saw the horizon as a curved line. It was accentuated by a thin seam of dark blue light - our atmosphere. Obviously, this was not the “ocean” of air I had been told it was so many times in my life. I was terrified by its fragile appearance.

An update

To everyone that actually reads this thing I want you to know that I haven’t forgotten about my blog. I don’t consider this a casual blog, meaning that I won’t bother my readers with my daily minuscule thoughts, that is what Facebook is for. So I only blog something when I want to share a good thought or something very meaningful to me. So don’t be frustrated if I’m not updating daily, it just means that I don’t want to waste your time.

hey man? How did you make a comment box through the disqUS thing? and also how did you do a web counter

Well, under the themes you can customize it and it says use Disqus code or something like that. Basically you have to go to the disqus website create a login and tell it your blog site. Then you put in the code they give you in the themes customization and you are done. As far as the counter goes, I just did a google for counters and put the HTML code in there and it’s all good. If you click my webcounter, I think it will take you to the website that I found it at.

My summer project

Image and video hosting by TinyPicSo I wanted to show a project that I worked on this summer with my good friend Martin. He had the crazy idea to make a desk out of bicycle frames, and I thought, well that sounds like a challenge. So we both took the project head on. It was a lot of experimenting and first experiences but it turned out better than I could have imagined. Martin posted a detailed blog about it which you can read HERE. I hope you enjoy looking at it.
